Yes, she is quite happy! Always smiling when she's out with the pack! I get her out with us once a week these days. She's hard to get motivated to go, but once she's in the van, it's all good!
Yes, she is most definitely her own "person". If she doesn't want to do something... forget about it! But if she wants something, watch out because she will not give up until she gets it. So I'm sure she tells you when she wants to go and when she'd rather sleep behind the toilet. lol
